Dinamo Box Marinetti

dinamobox manifesto
In these barbaric times, when art is sold by the centimetre, measuring the perimeter of the work without any attention to what is inside the perimeter;
in these times, when art is chosen according to its colour match with the sofa’s pattern;
in these times, when so called “denunciation” art only denounces its own uselessness, mimicking like a trained monkey the news photocopied from newspapers.
In these times, Dinamo Innesco Rivoluzione denounces denunciation art with rage and irony, through DINAMO BOX, the third dimension of furniture art.

Dinamo Box mocks “perimetric” art with an innovative volumetric conformation that makes those who count art by the centimetre pay in cubic millimetres, including the area of the hole!
Dinamo Box pushes to an extreme the “furnishing” use of art by transforming furnishing into art, and art into an object of daily use and usefulness.
Dinamo Box boxes up art, takes the pictures off the wall and spreads them around the room, on the bookcases, on the tables, as valet trays and vide poche!

Dinamo Box is expressive and embracing, it urges artistic disorder and aids domestic order, multiplying storage spaces where you can hide the unmentionable.

Dinamo Box fits perfectly with the Expedit and Billy systems, and with the most popular bookcases on the market. Dinamo Box hides the holes in your literary culture, allowing you to hide Baricco’s and Dan Brown’s books from your guests and at the same time providing a worthy frame and container for your collection of Chuck Palahniuck paperbacks.

Dinamo Box is multi-use and multi-shape, and stimulates its owners’ creativity and taste: it can be a knick-knack, a column, a picture in different configurations, from square to line of four down or across, and a thousand other possibilities.

Dinamo box is elegant and discreet: if you are having your boss over for dinner and the message of your composition is too “radical”, you can turn the boxes upside down and surprise the manager with elegant and extremely classical baroque wallpaper!

Dinamo Box is iconic and ironic. Dinamo Box is rational and demential.

Dinamo Box is the missing link between uncompromising artistic avantgarde and the Ikea catalogue.

Dinamo Box Marinetti

The first 4-box set of Dinamo Box is dedicated to Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, poet and founder of the Futurist movement.
The work is part of a series that is born on the occasion of the centenary of the publication on Le Figaro of  the first Futurist Manifesto signed by Marinetti, marking the birth of the movement and, perhaps, of European avant-gardes in general.
Dinamo Box Marinetti consists of 4 wooden boxes (26cm x 26cm) of thickness varying between 10 and 25 cm. These have been worked on with a mixed technique consisting of: collage, décollage, stencil, exterior industrial synthetic enamel, spray varnish, gilt varnish, sandpaper, wood preservative etc…
The inside of the boxes is lined with baroque wallpaper.
